Resveratrol + 300mg 60vcaps

Finlandia‘s Resveratrol+ consists of Resveratrol and Pterostilbene. Pterostilbene is a compound naturally found in blueberries and other dark berries and may help maintain healthy cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose levels. It is closely related to resveratrol and supports the actions of resveratrol. With inflammation being the root of most disease conditions associated with aging, including heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes and cancer, resveratrol’s anti-inflammatory action can benefit the entire body.

Results from ten years of research were recently published by David Sinclair, a Harvard Medical School genetics professor and the study’s senior author. Sinclair’s research-validated earlier findings that resveratrol appears to protect against age-related diseases because it turns on the SIRT1 gene that recharges the cells’ energy organelles, the mitochondria. In 2009 - 2010, Sinclair’s earlier research was largely discounted by other scientists who reasoned that resveratrol might only appear to activate sirtuins due to the use of a synthetic fluorescent chemical to track the effect. In the new study, Sinclair used naturally occurring amino acids to track the age-retarding benefits of resveratrol. For decades, scientists have known that restricting calories causes animals to live longer. Calorie restriction (CR) switches on the sirtuin genes, which are believed to be the causal link between CR and longevity. However, for most people, caloric restriction is challenging at best. Since resveratrol also switches on sirtuins, it is presumed to exert the same effect on longevity. The use of resveratrol also appears to boost autophagy within the cell. This process allows cells to remove damaged components so that they may be recycled into replacement parts. Several lines of research indicate specific types of damaged cellular components contribute to age-related decline over time. Increased autophagy may help restrict this contributory factor to the aging process.
